california here i come!
Well, I'm off to sunny San Diego for a little family R&R. I love California, someday maybe I'll live there - but for now the yearly trips to the sun are just what I need during the (cold) winter.
When we drive out into the desert and see all the mid-century houses its almost like going back in time. So how about some retro travel items to get me in the mood? yes please!

Marius Roosendaal
I'm a mid-century girl at heart.. which is why I am so enamored with these prints by Marius Roosendaal. I especially like the type tributes... Go to to his site to see more of his collection - they are truly amazing.

designer stamps
I might be regressing back to my childhood stamp collecting days (yes, I had a pretty sizable collection) but I am hoping to get my hands on some of these Pioneers of American Industrial Design Stamps - very cool

the pearl
so you're allowed to be jealous...because i went to beautiful san diego CA
to visit my sister at the end of january
while i was there i went to see the pearl hotel,
which was mentioned over at Oh Joy last july
I know my pictures aren't as good as hers (i should've gone at night)
but my review of what i saw was "tiny"
there aren't many photos because that's really all there is to see. it had a cool vibe,
and i bet its a great bar, but i need to remind myself that retro in its true sense is
usually a smaller scale than i would hope.
